Our brand story & values
Our mission is to move past transient trends and help you create a home where heritage and modern living meet. We curate spaces that doesn't just look beautiful, but feels intuitively woven into your daily rituals - a sophisticated backdrop to your daily life.
We believe design goes deeper than aesthetics and mood boards; it builds a foundation for the way you live. We aren't just designing a room, we are elevating your everyday with a sense of quiet luxury. To us, this means comfort without caution: dogs on sofas, handprints on cupboards and red wine on the rug. A home can be lived in , functional and still look beautiful.
Nommi Parker - Founder & Head of Design
My path to interior design was paved by 13 years in the creative and commercial world. From designing champagne lounges at Royal Ascot to mapping out strategic customer journeys for leading British supermarkets, I spent over a decade analysing how people move, interact, and feel within a space.
Today, I use that corporate background to underpin my understanding of the homeowner’s journey. This duality means my approach is equal parts creative and capable; I don’t start with paint charts, I start by understanding how you live.
Yorkshire born and bred, I now live with my husband, our two young children, and a beagle. Having managed our own renovation while navigating life with "two under two," I have a profound appreciation for the marriage of form and function. I know first-hand that a home must be durable enough to handle life’s joyful mess, without sacrificing its beauty.
I describe my aesthetic as 'English Modern' - a curated bridge between the contemporary and the classic. I thrive on the tension of opposites, balancing romantic softness against architectural precision. I am a neutral lover who isn't afraid of bold moments, grounding my spaces with the warmth of timber and the weight of stone. It is a polished, organic foundation where your cherished objects can shine.
In my own kitchen, an antique brass-framed recipe written by my Nana sits on top of a sleek stone worktop. That contrast is the heart of The Parlour Room. I believe in a home where everything has a place, but I also believe in the power of sentiment. My promise is to deliver a space that is functional, personal, and undeniably yours.

Beyond creating a beautiful aesthetic, an interior designer is a strategic investment that saves you time, money, and the overwhelm of decision fatigue. We are the bridge between your initial vision and the complex, behind-the-scenes reality of a renovation.
By prioritising the crucial technical details first, from spatial planning and electrical layouts to fabric durability, we prevent the costly mistakes that arise from endless trial and error. Our role is to see the finished vision and work backward, crafting a layered and soulful home that looks like you effortlessly threw it together.
From sourcing unique trade-only items to managing the intensity of project timelines, floor-plans and unlocking your homes potential, we handle the stress so you don’t have to. We ensure your home doesn't just look incredible, but functions perfectly for exactly how you live.

Every project is unique in scale and scope, but there is one rule we always suggest: get in touch as early as possible.
Ideally, you should engage a designer before you appoint a builder or architect and certainly before any structural work begins. We often find clients coming to us once building plans or extensions are already signed off only to realise that the 'dream kitchen' they’ve pictured doesn't actually fit the layout or that the electrical points aren't where they need them to be.
While architects focus on the structural shell, we focus on the life lived within it. We aren’t architects, and most architects aren't interior designers, but we work best when we work together. By involving us early, we can ensure that every window, socket, and internal wall is placed with your final furniture layout and daily lifestyle in mind, saving you the stress and cost of making changes once the build has started.

We are proudly located in the heart of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and our primary focus is bringing refined design to homes across North and West Yorkshire.
To ensure a seamless, hands-on experience, a 30-minute travel radius from our Harrogate studio is included within our standard service. For projects further afield, we are always happy to discuss travel arrangements to bring our expertise to your doorstep.
Not local to Yorkshire? Distance is no barrier to a beautiful home. We have invested in a sophisticated, fully-loaded client portal that allows us to offer our signature design service virtually. While working together digitally requires a little more "homework" on your side - such as providing measurements and site photos - but the result is the same: a timeless, luxury finish tailored perfectly to your lifestyle.

Think of this partnership as the "Vision" vs. the "Execution." While we work hand-in-hand, our responsibilities serve different parts of your project:
Our Role: The Design & The Vision Our focus is on the finished result - how the space feels, looks, and functions. We provide the clarity and the detailed strategy that prevents "on-site" guesswork. We coordinate the aesthetic, specify every finish (from the exact grout colour to the bespoke cabinetry), and act as the advocate for your design. We are here to ensure that the creative integrity of your home remains the priority from start to finish.
The Contractor’s Role: The Build & The Method Your contractor is the expert in construction and site management. They are responsible for the physical build, the structural methods and managing the various trades on-site. They handle the construction liability and ensure that the work is carried out safely and to building regulations.
The Partnership In short: We design the "what" and the "why," and your contractor determines the "how." By having us both on board, you ensure that the technical build is sound and the final aesthetic is exactly what you dreamed of.

There is no "one size fits all" answer, but we believe in complete transparency from the very first conversation. To help you plan, we break the investment down into two distinct parts:
1. The Design Fee (Fixed) Our professional design fees are fixed per package or per room and agreed upon upfront. This means you know exactly what our time and expertise will cost before we begin, with no hidden surprises.
2. The FF&E (Variable) The investment in Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) varies depending on the level of finish you desire. This is why we discuss your budget early on. We ask about your level of investment not to be nosey or because we want to spend up to that amount, but because it acts as our roadmap. It allows us to manage expectations realistically and ensures we are designing a scheme that is attainable for you.
We offer a service level for everyone, and the best way to navigate this is to book a complimentary Discovery Call. We can chat through your needs and suggest the right path for you.
Still unsure? Try our Consult Clinic service. If you aren't quite ready to commit to a full design package after our call, our Consult Clinic is the perfect first step. It’s a lower-investment way to experience our expertise and get immediate value. Should you choose to upgrade to a full design package afterwards, we apply a preferential discount to your new service fee to seamlessly transition you into the next stage.
We are here to help you maximise your investment, whatever level that may be.

It all starts with a simple conversation. We believe that designing your home is a deeply personal journey, so the very best way to begin is by booking a complimentary Discovery Call.
Think of this as a no-obligation virtual coffee. It’s a relaxed opportunity for us to hear about your project, discuss your initial ideas, timeline, and budget, and - most importantly - ensure we are the perfect partnership to bring your vision to life.
If the chemistry is right, we will then move to a tailored package proposal.
